If you suffer daily with your mental health, have lived with a drug or alcohol addiction for several years, or you are concerned you are no longer in control of the substances you’re consuming, why not call Action Rehab today? We will not judge you or your situation, and several members of our staff are themselves recovering addicts, so they understand the difficulties that you are experiencing.
Every day is important when you have an addiction, so if you feel like the time has come to make significant and positive changes to your life and to take back control, call Action Rehab today on 0151 268 6992.
We understand that asking for help is not easy. Clients speak of feeling embarrassed or ashamed that they have had to ask for help, but then go on to say they wish they would have asked for help sooner. From the moment you contact us, we will treat you as an individual and we will try and mitigate any difficulties you have with our compassion and dedication to your recovery journey.
The first step you must take is to commit to your recovery. Your mindset needs to change along with your attitude, and you need to ensure you are fully invested in getting clean. We also recommend you discuss the issues you’re experiencing with your loved ones in order to ensure you have a strong support mechanism around you for your post rehab recovery.
When you get in touch with Action Rehab, we will perform an initial assessment with you over the telephone. Once this is complete, and you determine you want our help, we will draw up a drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme within your budget. Private drug and alcohol rehab is not the cheapest option, but our prices are competitive and unlike the NHS or local charities, there’s no waiting list for our services. Choosing the right treatment for you is very important.
We recommend residential addiction treatment for most of our clients. 28 days is a significant time commitment but removing yourself from the difficulties of everyday life allows you to focus squarely on your recovery. Action Rehab will ensure you are provided with the appropriate rehab for drug and alcohol abuse.
After your initial telephone appointment, we will admit you to our clinic, where you can take a tour of our comfortable and homely rehab clinic. We will also introduce you to your keyworkers, who will be by your side for the duration of your rehab for drug addiction or alcohol addiction.
At this point, we’ll spend time getting to know you as an individual. Every person is different, and every person is affected differently by an addiction. By identifying the root cause of your addiction, we can identify any underlying mental health issues you may be experiencing. If we identify any issues, we will also provide mental health treatments and support.
This is a key difference with residential rehab from the outpatient solutions offered by the NHS and charities. With this dual diagnosis, we’re able to treat these underlying mental health issues and treat them appropriately. This decreases the chance of a relapse in the future.
Detox and therapy
Most of our clients require a period of drug and alcohol detoxification treatment. This allows your body to flush the harmful toxins that build up as a result of sustained drug or alcohol abuse. It’s an unpleasant process and you will experience withdrawal symptoms as your body craves the substances it has become accustomed to. Breaking this cycle of dependence is essential to getting your addiction under control.
These withdrawal symptoms will vary from mild to dangerous and therefore trying to detox by yourself at home is not recommended. As we taper away your access levels to drugs and alcohol, you will experience discomfort and our caring staff will be on hand 24 hours a day to ensure your safety and comfort. If required, they can provide prescription medication that acts as a sedative. A detox can take a few days to two weeks depending on the severity of your addiction.
Once your detox has been completed, your therapy can begin. We offer individual therapy and group therapy, alongside more holistic approaches such as yoga classes and exercise. Individual therapy is an opportunity to confront the issues that have caused you to develop a drug addiction or an alcohol addiction and how to move forwards.
Group therapy is the chance to discuss your problems with your fellow recovering addicts and to listen to theirs. This allows you to learn from their stories and their experiences. This is also an ideal opportunity to build a support network for when you leave our care and return to your life in Hamilton.
Drug and alcohol relapse prevention
When your treatment has been completed, we will provide you with 12 months of aftercare. You will not just be expected to fend for yourself, and our relapse prevention programmes are created with a great deal of care. Whilst you’ll need to take responsibility for your own recovery, we will put steps in place for you. You will need to avoid your triggers, places and people that may cause you to be tempted back to drug or alcohol use. We will be at the other end of a 24-hour helpline and we’ll put you in touch with local support groups to continue your experience sharing.
Please call Action Rehab today for an open conversation about your drug and alcohol use and how we can help you to break the cycle of drug addiction and alcohol addiction.
