Drug and alcohol addiction
Full commitment is essential to the success of a drug or alcohol addiction treatment programme. You should address any issues with denial regarding your addiction. Speak to your friends and loved ones – do they believe you need rehab for drug or alcohol addiction?
You should seek treatment as soon as you display signs of addictive behaviour. There are many signs of addiction (including poor performance in work and strained relationships with loved ones or your friends) but the biggest one to look out for is if you feel a loss of control and that you are unable to stop. At this point, you should immediately look for help.
We will help your recovery through our 24-hour helpline, which is manned by people who understand your problem and many of them are recovering addicts themselves. If you suspect that you may be suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction but aren’t sure, our team will ask you a small number of questions to evaluate whether you and determine what help you require.
Residential rehab in Wakefield
Recovery from drug and alcohol addiction is not at all easy and you will need to be extremely committed to your own recovery and seeing the programme through from beginning to end. The biggest benefit to residential rehab is that you’re not able to go to places or see people who may cause you to consume alcohol or drugs and cause your addiction to flare up.
Your treatment will begin with a 28 day stay at our modern residential clinic. Shorter stays are available but 28 day treatments have higher success rates. This includes a detox program which will may last as long as two weeks depending on the severity of your addiction. It’s essential that you completely abstain from drugs and alcohol in order to allow your body to recover and remove any toxins.
For most of our clients, rehab is the most difficult part of the entire treatment. Detox can be painful, both physically and mentally. You may feel like you want to give up and return home, and to return to drugs or alcohol to numb the pain. To counteract this you will be supervised by our team around the clock. They will also be able to offer prescription medication such as Buprenorphine and Naltrexone to help to control any withdrawal symptoms.
