Action Rehab promote the completion of residential rehab programmes. Residential rehab offers you time and provides a focus that allows you to work through your addiction in small steps. One major benefit is that it allows you to stay away from bad influences, whether that be places or people.
Unlike the NHS, there are no long waiting lists for our treatment and after an initial telephone appointment we’ll be able to admit you for your rehab straight away. Our treatment centres are comfortable and modern, reasonably priced, and we believe them to be the best place for you to undergo your rehab.
When does drug and alcohol addiction need to be treated?
We understand that acknowledging that there is a problem is one of the hardest parts of treatment for any addiction. A drug or alcohol addiction can leave devastation in its wake. You may have lost your job, ruined your finances or had fall outs with family and friends. It’s possible that you could even have turned to a life of crime in order to feed your habit. Every individual is different, and each substance has differing levels of effect, but the impact of a drug or alcohol addiction can and often does ruin lives.
You may have noticed changes in your own behaviour but do not feel as though the problem is you. It’s not you that has changed, it’s everyone else – though you know that isn’t the case.
The long-term, ongoing abuse of drugs or alcohol can cause profound physical and psychological to your body and mind. Persistent drug or alcohol use can cause damage to the brain, the heart and the liver.
If you’ve begun to experience regular withdrawal symptoms or feel you are headed down that road, Action Rehab want to hear from you. We can help you to overcome your addiction and remain drug and alcohol free for the rest of your life.
How does rehab work?
Rehab differs and is dependent on the treatment options and timeframe. With a 28-day commitment to residential rehab, we will provide you with treatment that leads to a long-term recovery. The key to rehab is slowly removing an addict from their consumption of drugs or alcohol. To supplement this, therapy treatment can help to treat connected mental health issues that often go hand in hand with addictions.
You’ll also undergo a period of detox which will last from three or four days to sixteen depending on the severity of your addiction. This is an unpleasant part of the treatment, but our medical staff will supervise your withdrawal symptoms and provide prescription medication where it is deemed to be helpful to your recovery.
Our goal is to help you to return to your normal life and have you adhere to a recovery plan. This is why treating our clients as individuals is important. Upon checking in to one of our treatment centres, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan for you. This includes all appropriate treatment methods to ensure the rehab is effective. We will treat both the body and the mind. You’ll also be invited to group therapy, a useful way to share your problems and solutions with other recovering addicts.
Upon completion of your 28-day treatment programme, we’ll come up with a secondary care plan to ensure your motivation to stay clean continues in the future. There’s no cure for addiction and you’ll need to continue to work at abstaining from drugs and alcohol and by avoiding triggers, people and places of a bad influence.
A recovering addict is at the most risk of suffering from a relapse within the first 12 months of their treatment finishing and as such, aftercare is as important a part of your treatment as any other.
You’ll be given access to a 24/7 helpline manned by people who understand your experience themselves and can provide you with advice and support. You’ll also be invited to continue to be connected to people you have gone through group therapy with and encouraged to join new groups in the Halifax area to continue to hear and share experiences.
Please don’t delay or put this off any further. We understand that asking for help is hard. But the longer an addiction is untreated, the more difficult it is for us to treat it. A call to us could save a life – yours or that of someone that you love. Please call us on 0151 268 6992 and Action Rehab can start to help you right away.
